Unfortunately comments have become disruptive enough that they can not be simply ignored or skipped over. These new rules will be applied immediately, with some little lead time to allow some readers to become accustomed to tempering language and focus.

We currently use "pending moderation" as a way to control for slander, invective, and enforce coventry during this heated election cycle. For most it is simply a short delay pass through. We are not editing content.

In participating in discussions, each commentator understands that he or she may be placed "In Coventry" (See Sidebar) for violating any of the below commenting rules. The decision to so place a commentator is at the sole discretion of the blog owner. Placement In Coventry is not indefinite or permanent. The blog owner reserves the right to determine the length of time a commentator must spend "In Conventry."

New posting rules for Angry Bear are as follows:

No profanity.
No personal attacks.
No harassment or demonization of a particular individual.
No disruptive behavior or off-topic remarks for their own sake.

Messages can be removed for such posts, and a note of removal put in place.

"The message was removed because it used the following personal insult
toward another commentator: xxx. Should the author continue to post anything
further that needs removing, his/her IP address can be permanently banned."
